Kief is powder-like crystals from the cannabis plant. But why should you care? Because you can use kief in so many creative ways to elevate your high.

The word “kief” (sometimes written as “kif”) is Arabic for “pleasure” or “intoxication.” The word refers to the rich powdery trichomes collected from the dry cannabis flower when processed.

Kief is the powdery, trichome-packed “crystals” that fall off your buds during drying, clipping or handling. You can make it into hashish or process it in several other ways. If you’re not careful, you can easily lose them. If you are careful, these trichomes can be pressed into hashish, used to make cannabis caviar, or dusted onto a twaxed joint.

But that's not all…

  1. Create a kief cake and add it to the chamber of a vaporizer that is capable of handling hashish.
  2. Put some in your palm and press down on it with your thumb, the heat and pressure of which should make it stick together to create a Moroccan-style hash.
  3. Use the Ice-o-lator or pollinator method to turn kief into hash. This is ideal if you have a large quantity of kief; you should have 50 grams or so of average to good quality weed to even consider this method.
  4. Turn it into rosin. This is a solventless cannabis extract that marijuana enthusiasts love for its purity and the fact that it can be made at home with a hair straightening iron.
  5. Sprinkle a little into a joint or make your own moonrocks.
