Cannimed Successfully Completes First Shipment Of Cannabis Oil To Cayman Islands
Cannimed Therapeutics Inc, one of Canada’s largest medical marijuana producers, has completed their first shipment of medical cannabis oil to the Cayman Islands. Cannimed was granted the first two licenses ever issued to export cannabis products by Canadian cannabis regulator Health Canada. The license was granted in March of this year and the first shipments arrived late last month.
The licenses gave Cannimed* the ability to ship their medical marijuana products to Australia and the Cayman Islands. Local distributor Caribbean Medical Distributors Ltd. Partnered with Professional Pharmacy Services to dispense Cannimed’s cannabis oil products at hospitals and pharmacies in Georgetown. By the end of June 2017, the company plans to have shipped around 3,600 mL of oil to Australia, and 12,960 mL of oil to the Cayman Islands.
After Health House of Perth received their initial order, three additional permits were issued to Cannimed for an additional order. The second order placed, which should be delivered by September 2017, was for a whopping 360,000 mL of medical cannabis oil. Australia’s medical cannabis market is growing which means great opportunities of Cannimed.
The delivery of cannabis oil from Cannimed is significant in as far as it is one of the first authorized global shipments of commercial marijuana products from one nation to another. They also place Cannimed as the world leader in cannabis exports, with more nations looking to start importing their products. With more and more countries looking to expand medical marijuana programs, Cannimed is bound to see orders from international partners.
