Toronto based startup Province Brands has a unique product they’re perfecting: cannabis beer. That’s right. Beer made from weed. And they may just be the next big thing in the already booming cannabis industry.
Their product isn’t yet legal for sale to the public, though it should start hitting shelves sometime in 2019. Michael “Dooma” Wendschuh, founder of Province Brands, is determined to have his product perfect before release. “We are starting a new brewing tradition, and we are not going to stop until we get it 100 percent right,” he announced at a recent cannabis summit.
Part of why their beer is allowed to be in development though not technically legal for sale is that Health Canada is encouraging of new products. Afterall, the growth of the cannabis market will be a huge help to the Canadian economy.
The startup is even applying for a patent of their brewing process to ensure there’s nothing else like it on the market. A smart business move, this is one of the many patents pending in the developing cannabis market.
So, if beer and cannabis are two of your favorite things just wait for 2019 to roll around and try this combination of the two. You may just find a new go-to method of getting that perfect buzz.
