Formed in the fall of 2017, the ABCC believes in Alberta's true potential and is committed to going above and beyond the base requirements for licensing. The Associations’ leadership is comprised of representatives from a number of the provinces top organizations such as Toyko Smoke, Compass Cannabis Clinic, and Ernst & Young.

“Our mission is to foster a flourishing cannabis industry in Alberta, characterized by respect, integrity, and prosperity; that’s something industry leaders have been able to get behind,” stated Jeff Noble, President and Co-Founder of ABCC.

The ABCC has been actively engaged in feedback sessions, focus groups, and workshops with the Alberta Cannabis Secretariat, the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission, and various municipalities, including Calgary and Edmonton.

Graeme Hawkins, VP of Compass Cannabis Clinic stated, “Compass Cannabis Clinic is thrilled to be part of the first true retail association that is set to be an authority in the cannabis industry.”

The membership application process is expected to begin in July 2018.  Retailers are encouraged to contact Mack Andrews for more information and to attend upcoming ABCC information sessions. “There’s been a lot of interest from prospective members, but until there is more certainty around licensing, we’re holding off on accepting any applications,” said Mack Andrews, Vice President and Co-Founder of ABCC.
