You can now get even higher with cannabis. No literally. You can fly the skies in a plane built and powered by our favorite plant.

Canadian company Hempearth has designed the world’s first hemp-made, hemp-run plane. Manufactured by Florida company Velocity Inc., everything from the wings to the seats is created using hemp products, and it runs on pure hemp oil.

The environmental implications are huge. Hemp takes less water to produce than cotton and actually nourishes the soil it’s grown in. Not only is hemp much more environmentally friendly than steel but it’s also lighter, more flexible and about 10 times stronger. And it doesn’t need to be mined. Huge plus!

This new hemp craft could be the way of the future. Sustainable, durable, and efficient, Hempearth has high hopes for their plane. “This is the kind of future we all want here on Earth,” says Hempearth CEO Derek Kesek.

This is just further proof of the versatility of cannabis and hemp. Together they can do so much for our world—and now, they can help us explore it!
