MYM Nutraceuticals has partnered with The Sherbrooke Historical Society in Quebec to create a museum dedicated to cannabis, dubbed The Canna Centre. The project, first announced mid-May, is now fleshed out in some detail, and it's looking like tech-enriched cannabis heaven that will delight recreational consumers and serve the needs of medical patients. The Centre will be at MYM’s flagship cannabis production facility, located in Weedon, Quebec, just over 150km east of Montreal.

This time last year, Weedon (population 2,800) was in line to be a future "cannabis capital" of Canada, and with the Canna Centre project moving forward, it most certainly could be. Back then, the price of the project was $200 million with the expectation that it would employ 200 members.

Since May of this year, MYM has been turning 329 acres of land into a 1.5 million square feet of grow space. Aside from housing a marijuana museum, the plans boast an education center, which will collaborate with universities for a botany program. There will be degrees and vocational programs available on-site, with certifications available for their seed-to-sale plant and operations courses.

The in-house lab and testing facility will allow for hands-on learning while the auditorium will host 2,000 people for lectures. Additionally, the clinic can house up to 22 patients in private apartments on campus. And, if that's not enough, the Canna Centre will have the world’s most significant zero carbon footprint.

On the advisory committee will be Weedon residents, representatives from the MRC du Haut-Saint-François, as well as from the region’s tourist and cultural sectors. The Weedon, Quebec Canna Centre is not only an incredibly exciting artifact of life after prohibition—but it's also the first of its kind in Canada.
