Ah the cleanse, a new trend that’s sweeping the health-conscious community. Cleansing involves eliminating unhealthy food, drink, and other things like cigarettes and alcohol from your diet. This is primarily to remove harmful free radicals from your system which cause oxidative stress that can lead to skin damage, damage to heart, lungs, and brain, impaired healing, and even cancer. Doing a cleanse can be invigorating and help your body to function at peak performance, and cannabis can actually help this process.
How Cannabis Can Help
Cannabis contains cannabinoids which neutralize free radicals. They also have known antioxidant properties, are excellent for joint and gut health, and help to restore homeostasis (balance) to your endocannabinoid system which regulates inflammation, appetite, mood, memory, and pain.
Since smoking cannabis can put some harmful toxins to your body, it’s best to choose other methods to add it into your cleanse. Vaping is a much healthier way to consume cannabis and can be less irritating to your system. Edibles are an excellent choice as well (presuming you’re not eating those high in sugar) since they don’t create the same toxins that smoking does.
Juicing raw cannabis may be the best way to add some cannabis to your cleanse. Raw cannabis contains hundreds of cannabinoids and in addition, has no psychoactive properties. The benefits of juicing include increased immune system function, improved bone metabolism, and neural function as well as anti-inflammatory benefits.
So, go ahead and add a little ganja into your cleanse. It’ll do your body good.
